Our sexual therapy services for individuals, couples and groups

Assessment and counseling

If you have a question or concern about sexuality or would simply like to make an assessment, you can contact members of ZiSMed for a consultation.

You can attend the initial consultation as an individual or as a couple. Your concerns will be discussed during this initial consultation. An evaluation of your sexuality can take from 1 to 4 sessions. If you want to change something about your sexuality, the appropriate options will be discussed. You can then decide whether you would like to undergo sexual therapy and in what setting this should take place.

Individual and couples therapy

Sexuality and sexual skills can be learned, and sexual problems often have to do with limitations in your personal sexual learning history. Sex therapy stimulates corresponding learning processes. It is difficult to predict how long the therapy will take. As with learning a sport, a language or an instrument, it depends, among other things, on what your goals are, how much time you want to invest in the learning process and where you are starting from.

Individual sessions are useful for sex therapy. In these sessions, the focus can be entirely on you and your concerns. If you are in a relationship, additional sessions as a couple are also useful. Here, the focus is on developing your sexuality together and on exercises that you can do together as a couple.

At ZiSMed or online

Some sex therapists at ZiSMed offer online appointments. For some, it is easier to talk about private issues in familiar surroundings than in unfamiliar rooms. Furthermore, the online setting allows a high degree of flexibility for appointments without commuting and waiting times in the practice. The list of specialists at the bottom of this page shows who offers online appointments.

How to make an appointment

You can contact individual team members directly for appointments. If you do not know who you would like to see, it is best to visit the team members' pages. There you can find out more about their specialties. Alternatively, you can use this form to make an inquiry. It helps us if you briefly describe your request. If you have any questions, you can also call +41 44 233 30 30.

Please understand that not all our therapists are fluent enough in English for therapeutic work, and that you may have to wait for an opening. There is a possibility of referral to English speaking therapists outside the ZiSMed in case we’re booked.
